The indicator light used to come on, after using less than 1/8 of the washer fluid. Then one day, it stayed on -- constantly. Not having the time to empty the washer fluid tank and clean the sensor, I unpluged it. I'm a big boy now -- when checking the oil, I can see whether the washer fluid needs to be added.

The sensor is built into the bottom of the tank. Unplug the connector underneath the tank. Wrap the connector several times with electrician's tape.
