how do your 6x9's sound when your seat is up?

I am interested to know if anyone else has gotten their deck (headunit) from crutchfield? If so do you have a a pic of the deck installed? I sware they gave me the wrong install kit with the deck, I had to cut it all to peices and it still does not look like it belongs.

My headunit that is. Of course my dads boss at the time had already installed a new Pioneer Premier tape deck in there at the time I had bought the car so. I shrug my shoulders.

lol....I think he wanted just ideas for the interior....not your car's life story!

Anyway, I'm a minimalist in my car's interior. Only things I've done are the clear courtesy lights, reverse indiglo gauges, and the synthetic aluminum dash kit. I have components with the tweeters flush mounted (sorta) in the front door panels (I need to redo them). My crossovers are mounted on the kick panels. I also have a adaptor in the back to fit 5.25" components in the back. The only thing I want to do is probably replace the seat fabric...at least for the back seats. My interior is clean, but the back seats have sun damage on the headrest. Oh I also need to mount about 3 gauges for boost. I'm thinking down where the drive computer normally goes. Or where the EQ is now with the gauges angle up and twoards the driver. I'd like to do a gauge cluster on the A-pillar, but I don't thing I can make that work.

Well me , My max is that special ed gxe , With the Gold Trim on the out exterior of the car , and the main paint is white , So what i was thinking , Is go with a Mattalic Silver paint on The Exterior , Then Get a Bucket seat looking Seat covor for the back seats or just Keep them out since i have done Weight reduction to my max , Witch gets me up around 150 Mph max speed , With no other mods , Then do the whole Interor black with a grey Trim , It was look really ncie , Now i just need to find some one With The door panels , That are black because i cannot Paint half of the door panels because they are fabric , the same thats on the seats .. Plus cigg marks every where from the pre owner , Yeah this car is going to be awsome when im done with it , I really have some good ideas!

I still have my factory EQ, its just not hooked up. It is installed just doesnt do anything. Im hoping to get some Cup holders from a 3rd gen or a Saab and see if those will fit in there. I havent really been looking in the Junkyards for anything.

I did not know where to post this, but I thought they would look nice on a second gen, I know I saw some of you posting about Spec V wheels. you would probably just need to check the offset, but they are the right lug pattern, and I am guessing they are pretty light for 17's. Just thought I would post since I am browsing ebay.

New to tha scene

I just bought an 84 maxima and there are a few thing i dont understand.
the guy I bought it from said that it was a rare version. I don't think that he knew exactly what he was talking about, but I do know that it has a factory L28(2.8 liter inline six). From what I'm hearing on this site you have to swap motors with a Z to get that engine, but this one hasn't been swapped. It has 250k miles on it, but the old inline still sounds good even with the solid lifters. The guy said that he was the second owner and he's only used single wieght 40w oil in it. Should I rebuild or just mod up or drive it til the wheels fall off. I need help!!!!!

Can anyone help? I have a 85 maxima, and the sound system is the one with the deck and equalizer like some people talk about above. I took out the deck put in a nice pioneer, but I want to change the speakers. the front doors look like 6". anyone have suggestions as to what is a good fit there? also, what can I do about the back ones? it looks like there's a little 4" and 2" back there on each side, not sure without taking it out. what can I put back there. thx wilhouse

I can't believe I let this slide past my radar but i did. I just realized two days ago that I had been had(sort of)the guy I bought it from said it was loud because it had solid lifters IT DOESN'T HAVE ANY LIFTERS. It's an OHC engine. The sound was from the quarter inch gap in the valves. so i adjusted them and now it runs great. except for the vibration from the bad tranny mounts.

well, I guess I'll answer my own question. I bought a pair of eclipse 6 1/2" thin profiles for the front and eclipse 4" for the back. the fronts are three way and the backs are two way. I snipped the ends off the wire, crimped new connectors on, left the 1" tweeter in place, unwired, in the back. Took about a 1/2 hour. Speakers were on clearance for $150. I have a JVC 180 watt deck and these support it. Works great!!
