Projectors in a 2nd gen- The Write Up
Ok so heres the plan getting projectors to fit into a second gen. bacisaclly there is a lot of cutting. wel not too much so having a dremmel would actually help a lil. anyways to do this you will need a good set of projectors (i got mine from a bmw 325 which served well) so you will need to take the projectors apart on the bottom there are 3 screws that are hell to get out unless you have the screw driver to take them out with. after that you will need to take the projector lense and mount
apart from the reflector bowls. the german rflector bowls are made of plastic and a coating of aluminium or some type of reflector paint which rubbs off with windex if you wanted to clean them. so for this problem i went with my asian counterpart and stole the reflector bowls out of them.
(any asian projector reflector bowl will do if it looks like the picture above) now if i were you i would take out the lense from the projector bracket (CAREFULLY BEACUSE YOU COULD CHIP THE LENSE) with a screw driver(a small one) and clean with windex and put up for safe keeping because you would not wanna loose them or worse break them. now that you have your asian bottom and your germain top
now all you have to do is to join them. what i did before i joined them is that i marked 4 dots fpr every individual post and drilled them with a metal bit.

once you have the 2 parts or pieces apart you are gonna need to cut off the backing however you would like to have your projector fit.

Things needed to do this fabritomization:
metal screws (a box)
drill (trigger speed sensitive)
2 elipsoid bmw projectors. you could use other but some instructions will not apply
dremmel
metal cutting disks
metal drill bit
philips screwdriver
??? screddriver for the bmw projector housings or do as i did and use a flat head and screw in the opposite direction until the screw breaks the plastic.

Don't use a car to show beam pattern. Park the car about 10 feet away from a wall on level ground. That'll give us a better idea of what the pattern is. You're way too close to that car that it looks like round blob of light.

Are these an actual HID kit you have now, or are they just the bulbs that say HID? The cut-off looks really good to me. Got a little hump on it, but definately cleaner than the cut off on my volvo. I'll have to look at these pics when I get home on the LCD screens. My work monitors suck because they are so dark.

Lookin good! My only question is why you chose to flatten out the cut-off instead of keeping the stepped cut-off? The step was intended to throw a bit of light higher on the right side of the road to illuminate signs better.

That's cool then. Looks like it has a nice colourband along the cut-off, it must make some cool flicker. Over on HID Planet, they were playing around with bending the cut-off shield a tiny bit to widen and bring out the colourband more ( more flicker too ), but it also makes it a bit less crisp. I wonder how it would look with halogens.

That is some nice light coming out of those projectors. right now I have a hold of some pretty sweet HID's and am going to modify my stock housing to fit a stock infiniti metal HID reflector. I am still waiting to get a spare pair of headlights from the junkyard, so I don't have to risk ruining them and not being able to use my car.
