rough idle in D

rough idle in D

my friend has a 2ed gen gxe auto

when the car is ideling its fine, but when he puts it into drive it gets very rough, we r putting plugs wires cap button, on tommorow, hopefully this will solve it, but any ideas if it dosent??????????

when I had that problem it was a fuel injector going out. it'd idle really bad in D but if I pushed it up to N or put it in P the idle would smooth itself considerably. the #4 injector finally died, replaced it, and that solved it.

don't hold me to that being your problem, I'm just giving you my experience. and this wasn't in my maxima, it was in a 94 sentra. but nonetheless, that was the problem. it could be a number of other things. sounds like you're on the right path with a good tune up. (remember, NGK!!!!) start small, then see where you go from there. if you haven't tuned it up in a while, you may as well do it now, it certainly won't be a waste of money either way.

well we put that stuff on and it seemed to be ok but a big concers was the #2 cyl when i took the plug out there was oil on it, dripping. idk what that is, it dosent burn oil so its not rings. i dont understand what a burnt valve means, ideas?

ya oil i think idk he said its running fine and it been 3 days so o well hopefully its ok
