My intake...

Alright i fineally got every thing hooked up , took me hours since , It was so could and had to use a blow dryer on every thing , but after like 5 seconds it will stall out , And if you rev it , Right after the revs hit 1k the engine shuts off..

Heres the setup I put a breather filter on the cam cover , And one Up neat the erg .

What do you think the problem is here?

i think problem #1 is a real MAF adaptor with bolts instead of mysterous red goo holding it together, make sure theres a round rubber gasket on the flange side of the MAF.

hook that hose with the little cone filter back to to the rest of the car, i think (not positive) it needs to draw from the intake AFTER the MAF.

hook that other hose on the valve cover up the the rest of that intake before the MAF and the garden hose i think also needs to be hooked up after the MAF and also...garden hose!?!?!?

i am not 100% on all of these its 11:00pm i'll check my car tommorow

Your problem is you pulling vaccum before the MAF. The blue hose you have going before the MAF needs to do after the MAF. Next your MAF is on backwards. The arrow needs to point to the throttle body. Third, the MAF is too close to the throttlebody, so when it shuts is causes some oscillation in the air.

So all in all, your install is bad.

You can't have anything connected circled in red here if comes from the intake manifold. Since you have one port, the AIV can be connected here. If you have connect something other than that there, unmetered air gets into the motor and causes it to stall.

Circled in yellow is the MAF. There is an airflow arrow. It must point the in the direction of the throttle body or it won't work properly.

well look if you want to delete the whole air box thingy toull need to plug everything after the maff except for the hose you put the lil cone filter on attach the maf to the filter with the direction arrow that says flow on it towards the tb and make your custom connection from the maf to the throttlebody there there should be about 4 connections betwen the tb and the maf not including the crankcase hose or tghe one you put a lil filter on..... hope this helps..

Ive tryed that set up a couple times ... Maybe it was just The rubber cupplers that turned into plastic in the cold , And the clamps that if you tryed to tighten them , They wouldent just reset back to the Beggining , Thats what i get for buying **** from pep boys...

It really looked like your MAF unit was facing the wrong way in those first few pics. the round part is supposed to be facing the intake manifold and the side with four bolt holes should face the fender. that is where you hook up the adapter for the piping/cone filter. other than that, I love the setup!

BTW everyone, I just picked up a 5th gen last weekend. wish me luck.

Definitly NOT, The pcv system must be a sealed system, If a car is running, (mine) and the oil filler cap is removed, the engine dies because it is leaned out so much! Thats why I'll bet yours won't idle??? Get all the hoses back to their original locations on the car, get rid of the breather filter, and put the MAF on with the arrow facing the throttle body, and it should work!
Good luck, Earl
ALL THAT FOR A PRETTY AIR FILTER???????

Haha , Yeah I mean i know the breather filter on the crank case will work on some cars , Just dident know if it would for ours. do you think since i only have One opening on the intakje tubing , Do you think i could get a t connector and just throw the tube from the Crankcase cover , And the Im cover on there and think it would work then?

I was looking at the picture, and I would recommend getting a real gasket for between the TB and the plenum. I can't tell what that is, but it definately isn't right. Just a suggestion.
