84 Maxima Sedan on Ebay

There is an 84 Maxima Sedan on Ebay in the Tacoma, Washington area for anyone that is looking for one in that area. Here's the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissa...spagenameZWDVW

The seller says it runs and the body looks decent.

I am still looking for an 84 Maxima wagon (gas) in the Cleveland, Ohio area for parts so if you see one let me know.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you may be out of luck. There aren't that many Maximas of that vintage registered in Ohio. The ones I've seen have been sedans. You will probably have to look out of state (ie California, Florida, New Jersey, to name a few) for a complete wagon and/or parts. Good luck

I still have hope that there is an 84 wagon close by that somebody is willing to part with.

Belakithom, were you looking for a 1st gen diesel?

I just saw a maxima wagon on Ebay in Georgia, but it's an 82 diesel. I could use a few of the body parts, the colors are close, but what could I do with a diesel engine?

Here's the link:

Yes I was. Unfortunately, unforseen expenses has pushed back my search for a while. Thank you for the link anyway. Regarding your search, if you check, www.cleveland.com/autonews and click on " What we drive" you'll see that there aren't too many 810/Maximas registered in all of Ohio, and only 1 810 registered. I've seen a couple Maxima Wagons around, but that was a long time ago, surprisingly, I've started seeing more Cressida tooling around Cleveland, go figure. Anyway, Good luck on your search.

Thanks for the cleveland.com link. They had a whopping 7 more 810/maximas listed under the Datsun section. The first car I bought from a dealer was a 1977 Datsun 810 back in '78. I got rid of it in '85 after I got my
'84 Maxima wagon but I still have a few parts, some glass, and some of the interior left over from it.

There weren't any 810 maximas.

There were 810s in coupe (very rare) and sedan.

Maximas were 910s.

First generation maximas litter the junkyards of america.

I was selling my 1984 maxima with turbo for 1,000 a few months back but now it's my daily driver.

I know that and you know that, but nobody told Cleveland.com.

Do your junkyards have any 1st gen maxima wagons? The yards around here don't keep older cars like that around. They usually sell them quick for scrap.

You're welcome. Depending on what you need, you'll probably wind up looking out of state.

yes there is a purple 1982 maxima wagon automatic/gas that is complete except someone bondo'd the sunroof.

Sadly, the hood got jumped on.

It's on Benoist farms road in west palm beach and it's either at "ABC" or the place next door........at least it was yesterday.

I found the ABC U-Pull-It on the Yahoo search. Their web site doesn't show what cars or parts they have. The prices seem nice probably because you take off the parts yourself. That seems like a nice setup. Most places in Cleveland don't even let you go out in the yard for insurance reasons. The next time I'm in Florida I'll try to check them out.

There is a yard next door and both have lots of goodies but you have to go quite often as that maxima I mentioned last week is probably gone.

My other favorite yard is down the street from daytona speedway but I no longer live near there.

Over the years there, I have seen 10 or more maximas, 2 of them diesels.

That web site is listed as one of my favorites. I've used it to locate and buy a radiator and starter for the maxima from a yard near Columbus, Ohio. My children were in a Redemption tournament nearby and I was able to pick up the parts while they were playing. I also used the site to find a hatchback for the wagon in Georgia and picked it up last year for my birthday.

I would still like to find a parts car for those future needs and presently I need the spare tire carrier assembly (as mine has rusted off) and the rear tail lights. I think one will show up in due time.

Good that you have the site bookmarked. It is too bad you did not ask about this last year or even this year. There were 2 wagons for sale, one on E-bay, the other on Collectorcartrader.com. They were both blue in color. The E-bay one was sold off the site by because the bid to win was $1 off, (I wish I would have bid on it, but there was the issue of shipping, oh well) The one that was for sale this year was on collectorcartrader. In fact it was for sale last year also. Ironically, they were both in Florida, lol. If you look at collectorcartrader.com now, there is an 81 810 Wagon for sale, but I think that one is in California. You could also try craigslist, if you have not already. Again, best of luck in finding the parts.

A good source for parts on your wagon would be Toyota/Nissan Salvage in Phoenix.Their web site is ToyotaNissanSalvage.com and they are located at 40th and University.Jim Gibson specializes in vintage Datsun/Nissan parts and is fair in his pricing.

I am looking for a 1984 Maxima wagon parts car a little closer to home. Is your wagon running? Are you parting it out? I could use the left and right tail lights for now if the price is decent.

I've had my wagon since I bought it off the showroom floor in 1985 so I can understand you not wanting to part it out. I also have an 84 maxima parts car but it's a sedan. You say your wagon quit on you, what's wrong with it?

Just pulled a complete 5 speed conversion from that yard next to abc in west palm beach yesterday.

Silver one with rusty doors so I doubt the body is good other than the metal strips above the front and rear bumpers.

Well!!!
I drove it for about six months with the problem and some time when I stopped . Shop come backout to crank it it cranked normal but acted as if it wasn't firing. Once it cranked it seemed to run as smooth as it should. I did replace at least two of the injectors. It also seems to run to rich. I have had several people tell me what they thought was wrong. mass air flow sensor, oxegen sensor ect. Finally when it quite I had changed jobs and working alot of overtime and going to Chattanooga State Technicial college. I had to find a car quick. so I parked It. Trust me I beleive it could be revived.

Make sure the connector on the head for the temp sensor is plugged in and making good contact.

It's near cylinder 5 and changing spark plugs many times will cause problems with it coming off.
