New car added to the family.

Fiance just traded in her '04 Sentra 1.8S for minor upgrade:

'05 SE-R Spec-V 6-speed with 33k on the clock. It's a black on two-tone gray/black interior. It has all but the sunroof and rockford/fosgate system. Gots the Brembo 4-piston calipers, and HLSD. Of course this was the fiance's choice and not mine (you guys can ask her...I was very surprised she got it when I found out yesterday). It's her car, but a toy for both of us to mod together.

All I can say is holy crap, the QR25DE is one sweet motor. The car has lots of potential, and yes, I can spin first and second without much effort. It has one mod, an exhaust (a sort of Remus setup). It oddly sounds similar to a Maxima exhaust but at a slightly higher pitch). The next easy item will likely be tint, intake. We'll likely also lower it a little, the gap is a little much. Paint needs a polish and wax though to get rid of the swirls.

However there is still potential for the financing to fall thru for her, but it doesn't look like it'll be a problem.

not bad It really looks like some one swirled the crap out of it though. I raced one of those cars the other night...they are no slouch, but once I cought traction in second I moved on out.

It's fun. Was looking up track times, it's a low to mid 15 second car from the box, and pretty easy to get into the 14's with simple bolt ons. Not bad at all.

Please read up on all the of the QR's problems and make sure they are fixed correctly!

Other wise a very very nice car. Id love to have the VQ25 in it though. Good luck modding and keeping it maintained, it seems like a great balance of quality and still being light weight. How is it in the twisties?

Haven't took it in the twisties yet. Can't wait though.

What is your first comment all about? I find that a tad condescending.

its just that the qr25 engines had a couple of issues(i think one of them was a risk of engine fire, correct me if I am mistaken) when it was first released in these sentras. I do not think that the 2006 model year had those problems, they may have been fixed in that model year.

It shouldn't need any sort of lowering that is really aggressive. For some reason nissan engineers want you to also be able to go offroading with their sedans. Loving the car sarin

It is a little condescending because the QR loves to commit suicide.

The butterfly valves rattle the screws loose, the catalytic converter get sucked back into the engine, and some other problem. I think it leaked enough oil to burn its self or something.

The screws just need some thread lock, the catalytic converter needs replaced with a cat free header (illegal but it doesn't do much for emissions and Id rather have a working engine) and Im not sure about the leak.

But just search for Sentra forums there are great ones out there. They will give all the details so your QR will live a long healthy life. GL with the car!

Cool cool, I've already looked most of it up, but just the way you worded it made it come off like I don't know what I'm doing...and that really isn't the case.

Cool swap, but why? It's still faster than your car with boost.

Low 15's with minor mods isn't too hard to do with this car (considering a mid 15's this car does from the box)...more serious mods start taking it into the mid 14's....then you start talking about boost...need I say more?

As for the lowering, I don't want to go aggressive, but the S-Tune/R-Tune suspension looks good. Likely I'll get a kit that is 1-1.2 inch lower and the car will be golden.

Sarin is getting married?
Damn have I been gone that long?
Congrats on the nuptuals man!
I just got married like two months ago.
The spec-V is a sweet ride. My lil bro has the 1.8 and is trying to mod that without much success. He talks about the spec-V all the time.

Hey funny coincidence my wife needs a car and since im now broke from getting married and our place I need a cheap car. Anyone selling an 88 max around socal hit me up.

Don't worry sarin after you get married things start to slow down...

Nice ride I've always been a fan of the B15 se-r. I'd personally would trade my sr20 for a qr25 anyday or maybe a VQ35 lol.

I know what you mean. My plan is to get another max (for my wife) and work on that one. I cant phathom why I would want to again after all the heart ache I had with that car. I guess I just don't learn. Though when that car ran it was a blast to drive.
