a/c problems-88 wagon.
My compressor isn't engaging. The light on the a/c button is coming on, but that's it. My car has super low mileage (63k), has never been in a corrosive environment and has always been in the garage.
I checked the fuse, and it's fine. I'm not sure how to test the relay, but I did pull it out and put it back in. I'm doubting it's the compressor, but I'm not 100% sure about that. The haynes manual gives no clues as to troubleshooting, and I don't have an FSM yet.
If anybody could throw some suggestions my way, I'd appreciate it. I don't want to take it into the shop just yet.

If could be possible you are low or out of coolant. Even with that low of miles, not using the A/C on a regular basis can cause seals to dry out and leak.
Also I would verify if the compressor clutch is engaging or not. You should hear a distinct click and the center of the clutch should begin spinning.
