I think since I finally looked at the motor tonight!! I solved the main problem being a plug wire completely came off the distributor - but I think new plugs and wires are in store.
thanks,
Mike
Check your cylinder head temperature sensor. You should measure around 2700 ohms when cold and 330 ohms hot. Those thermistors are known to open, then you will have a cold start/run problem, and excessive spark knock for a short while after a hot crank.

I think I'm gonna change the plugs and wires this wkend. Car is running a bit better but still seems to stumble a bit when on the gas. Idle is a bit rougher when the AC is on too.

Make sure you have no air leaks between the Throttle chamber and the Air Flow Meter, check the condition of the connecting tube, they always look good from the top, may have to remove it to check the bottom. Just think what a simple crack can do for you here. Check it out!
