Any chance you'd be interested in my 87 5-speed? Engine pulls strong and I literally just passed smog on it this past Monday. Mechanically it's great, all synchros are smooth. Bone stock.

I'm up in the SF Bay Area.

I'm pretty sure you'll need different axles and hubs. Though I don't know for sure. I do know the vg30e and the Ve30de will bolt the the same transmissions. The best thing would be to get a VE5 transmission because of the stronger axles and LIMITED SLIP!!!!

Which ever transmission you get will probably need axles and hubs. I went from VG5 trans to a VE5 trans. Incredible traction improvement and all I did was swap in ve axles and hubs. Which makes me think..

It all depends if you struts will bolt the a 3rd gen hub.

Well, if you're at all serious we could figure something out. Meet halfway in Fresno or something.

It needs no mechanical work other than it has a split CV and a new valve cover gasket. I'm torn between putting more money into it or selling.

ill do some research and post might be useful to someone also i will post interior pics of the 2nd gen automatic tranny

For fwd the VE5 trans would be the best option. The only thing to wire would be the speed sensor(2 wires) and shifter position switch for reverse lights... Really basic.
