83 maxima engine

Does anybody know where one can buy a rebuilt engine for an '83
maxima? Had my car since 83 its still running but the engine is
almost near the end.Everything w/ it is still perfect, Iwould
like to drive it for many more years.

Re: 83 maxima engine

Don997,

Our local junkyard dealer (A-1 Auto Recyclers)here at colorado carries several 83-87 max parts. I just bought a rear decklid
from an 87 max for my 87 max. Good luck

Rebuilt Engines

Try ATK, Jasper, or Goodson...

Re: 83 maxima engine

I dont know where to get a Maxima engine(l24) but I do know where to get a rebuilt l28 for $1800(zcarparts.com). Its really a 2.8 liter 280ZX motor I'm pretty sure all you gotta do to put it in your car is put your oil pan on it and relocate the dip stick. but you might need to get a l28 exhaust manifold or header because the exhaust ports might be different. If you get an 81-83 motor they make 145hp(more with a few mods) which should make that maxima fly. Or you could go all out and get a rebello racing motor for around 4500 and with the right set up it puts out 300+hp.

I know thats not really that helpful but I wanna see a really fast Maxima.
