WTB: MAF Adapter Plate for Custom CAI

The instructions for a custom CAI @ http://skyboom.com/mattbender/cai.htm
call for an MAF adapter plate.

I searched the forums and came up with an adapter plate at http://www.summitracing.com (Part Number GRM-10-500)

The post that mentioned this part was for 4 generation maximas. I have a 1987 GXE.

Will this part still fit my MAF?

If not, where can I get one that will?

Thank you,
Jorge Tellez

I dug through the search engines and found a site with diagrams for the part I'm seeking.

http://store.yahoo.com/racinglab/inadtypf.html

It doesn't list the maxima, but the page before it says "Type F" is for 2nd gen maximas (http://store.yahoo.com/racinglab/inadap.html)

I'm just going to buy a universal adapter and try it out, but I thought I'd post that just in case others were looking for it too.

Here I come CAI!

I still haven't bought the universal adapter yet, so if anyone out there makes them and knows they'll fit my max (87 gxe), don't be shy. I would much rather have a custom one than a universal one.

Thank you,
Jorge

Hey Maxima561,

Did you fashion your own MAF adapter plate or purchased it. If you
did your own, what materials did you use? If you bought it where did
you ordered it from? Thanks for the info.

Mike

I made my own, if you look at my web page there is a few pics of it. I just a piece of metal that is not too thick to cut and it was about 4 inches by 4 inches. Then just trace out the air flow meter and cut it out. Drill out spots for the 4 holes. Then cut out the middle of it. After that i got a metal can(corn, green beans, anything like that. Cut the ends off of it and then mount it to the metal plate where you cut the hole at. Next i welded it together so there were no air leaks, then painted it so it looks descent. Might not look the best but its been on the car for over a year and ive never had a problem with it yet.
