Speakers

Just wanted to know if there are any direct replacements for the rear deck speakers? I would like to upgrade them without cutting or having something custom made. Any information would help, thank you!

I think we had a thread about speakers earlier in the year. Do a search for that.

I just brought some infinity 6x9's in through the bottom of the rear deck. No cutting required, sounds xllent. Are you going to put subs in too? I didn't run subs, but I still wanted bass so that's why I ran the 6x9s.

you can use almost any 5.25 speaker and you should not have to cut anything. Hardest part is cutting off factory speaker wire connector

Yeah the factory connector was a pain

pillage6, I would try my 6x9 setup. And definitley attach your amp to the back of the fold down seat. For some reason it impresses people when they ask "what kinda amp you have?" and you just pull it down and show them.

later,
Jorge

Try www.crutchfield.com
I believe you may have an odd size speaker a 4 inch in the rear parcel shelf area. I purchased a pair a while back from crutchfield but returned it b/c after replacing the dried out front door speakers the rear's didn't make much difference.

I know you don't want to do anything custom, but I installed 5 1/4 in components and cut a bracket out of plywood and wrapped it in black carpet-really easy if you have a jigsaw. that way both cutouts in the rear deck were covered and I got great speaker sound. Trace the outline of the plastic speaker housing and transfer it to the plywood and then place the speaker template and make your pattern. use long bolts and you might have to drill four holes into the rear deck sheetmetal. good luck
