i cant lock it

i think im having a relay problem, as my maximas drivers door lock does not let it stay locked, it just shoots back up, i have to pull the battery cable to lock the car, what do you guys think? ps anyone have a working ac compressor at a reasonable price? i cant imagine paying 262 dollars for a new part for a 23 year old car lol

I don't know about the lock. My van used to do that when one of the door unlock switches malfunctioned. I disconnected the suspect switch and the problem went away. If you are looking for an inexpensive replacement for your ac compressor try your local pull a part - (www.pullapart.com) . If you are not near one you can also try: (www.car-parts.com). They have a lot listed at different prices and there might be a place close by that has it.

You should just disconnect the driver side lock actuator. Chances are that you will always unlock the driver side door with the key first anyway.

all 80's omports well the ones i drove atleast made you lock the door nd lift the handle when you close it to lock it, i guess that in the 70's too many ppl was smokin pot and left their kes in tha car, so the carmakers made tem like that in the 80's

My 2nd gen required you lift the handle to keep the front doors locked when you closed them.

For some reason, mine doesn't. My pathfinder and both of my sentras did, but not this one. I actually prefer that it doesn't.

it might be shutting all the way but not locked all the way so that the door will still be able to open, unless it doesn't due to keyless entry. both 2nd gens and 3rd gen and the list of other nissan s that i have owned, had to have the handle lifted when shutting the door for it to lock unless done with the key after the door was shut.
