Is it possible to convert an automatic to a manual??
I saw this ad where someone was selling their 88 Maxima for $300. They say the transmission is slipping. I also saw someone selling a 5-speed transmission for $200 for the same year maxima. I was thinking about buying it, and then putting the 5-speed tranny in it, but I think it may involve too much work. So I may go to a junk yard and find a tranny for it, as I love those second Gens. I used to own one, it was a 87 GXE in good condition, and I only paid $500 for it. I liked the box styling and the sunroof and the voice control.
Its a common swap on 3rd gen GXE's. As long as you have the parts apparently all it takes is a weekend
should be just as doable on a 2nd gen. do you know how to do it/what youre doing? (im doing it on my 3rd gen eventually and will get some help lol)

It can be done, don't know how exactly. I know you need the clutch slave cylinder, clutch pedal assembly, manual tranny(of course), and various other things. My father did it to my elder brothers 2nd gen when he had it, only took him a weekend.
