I finally got my 88 maxima out of the body shop and it was running fine, no crazy noises, etc. I turned on the Academy, blew no cold air, started making loud noise, then came loud whirring noise, followed by smoke, i went, purchased some refrigerant, ran it in there, (lowport) looking for possible problem, soluton, also, I need to drive it to Indiana which is 155 miles away, yay or nay on driving it home, any help, advice, comment is appreciated. where was the smoke coming from? is it just the A/C thats having a issue?

 

It was coming from the ac compressor, and it also produces a loud squealing sound
