87 automatic EGR valve

I am looking for a n EGR valve for an automatic 87 gxw wagon but, I only find them for the standard version. Would I be able to use the standard version in my automatic? Also, during cold starts I have to keep my foot on the pedal to warm the car up. The IAC is new, what could be the problem?

It is not your EGR valve it your air regulator that is mounted in the back of your intake however there is no replacement for it since Nissan discontinued the part so you have to read the stickie on the post

Thanks! That was VERY helpful. But while I have you, would an egr for a standard not work for an automatic? Your help is greatly appreciated.

I know the egr valve on standard and automatic uses different parts but they work the same however I think because manual have to use more vacuum than automatic to burn off the Nox but I don't think they would make a huge difference

This is not exactly answering your question, but perhaps my recent experience may help.
This month my 86 Maxima Wagon (automatic) failed the smog test in California, and my mechanic diagnosed it as a bad EGR valve. I got a new one from RockAuto for ~$119 + tax, and the car passed smog with flying colors.
RockAuto also had one on closeout at ~$56, but I could not get it since it could not be mailed to California (not because of the stricter emissions, which would make sense, but because the manufacturer had not filed some CA legal papers).

On RockAuto site, I see that the 86 EGR valves simply say "GL Model", whereas for the 87, they say "Manual Trans" (which is what you found, I guess). Just for the heck of it, I checked 85, which says "GL model" and 88, which says "Manual trans". So I wonder if there some mistake in the description. I suggest that you could ...
a) check the RockAuto part number against your old part and/or service manual to see if it is the same (I actually did this before I ordered mine), and
b) ask RockAuto about it.

Sorry, I hope I did not waste your time; I thought that every little may help.
