Hi everyone ,
I am *trying* to bring an 1988 Maxima SE back to life I have had in storage for about 5 years. a few days ago, the driver's side door opened without issue but when I closed the door, it locked and neither rotating the key or reaching in and pulling the lock "tab" (the thing that has always stuck UP out of a door to lock/unlock the door) the door refuses to unlock. I can hear a slight thud if I exercise the locking tab and then try either the interior or exterior door pull. Is there any common steps short of pulling the driver's seat and trying to pull the door card on a closed door?

Try getting in the car and holding the inside door latch open and press the unlock button. I think this resets the door locks.
