'88 maxima with flashing shocks?
I've got an '88 maxima. I'm not sure if you guys are familiar with it, but it has a little adjuster right next to the parking brake which allows you to adjust the firmness of the shocks. Just yesterday the lights on this adjuster started flashing repeatedly and i was wondering if any of you guys have seen this before. thanks

Each of the OEM Nissan struts have an electronic "sensor". The wire harness to each of these sensors might be bad, or not connected. Check that. Or if you have terrible suspension lately, your Max might be reminding you to change these.
If you changed your struts with OEM struts recently, the wire might not be connected.
But if you used AFTERMARKET struts, that switch is basically useless.

There are several posts regarding converting electronic to non-electronic struts. Almost everyone I know doesn't want to pay 500 a piece for OEM struts. KYB (or Tokicos, if you can find them) are excellent replacements. Don't go with Monroes.

I have some weak struts on my `88 and to replace them with the sonar original parts would cost over 1200.00!!! Needless to say, I'll be going non-sonar. Anyone done this before? My service manual has specs on the throw and dimensions...etc...and it looks like it can be done.
