WTB: 3RD GEN "6.5" inch speaker housings !

Looking to upgrade my speakers in the front doors of my 93 Max. I currently have 4X6 inch speakers in there, but I want to be able to put in some 6X5 inch speakers and they wont fit. If anyone has a houseing they want to sell for a reasonable price please let me know.

6x5 or 6.5? usually, people hang onto these. have you checked ebay, yet? usually pretty cheap, iirc (reminds me, need to see if they have 5.25 ones.)

Yeah, they sell them on eBay now. Keep in mind the ones I used to make as well as the eBay ones are more like "brackets" than "housings"

Just have fun with it!
These are bose from a newer Maxima, unsure of what year. I wanted housings vs. brackets for the, what i assume to be, better sound quality. Unsure of it's impact too, but they sound a boat load better than the ittle 3.5s that were flapping about.

Did those come from a 95 to 99 model Maxima? If so let me know, and did they fit right into the factory speaker housing of the 3rd generation maxima without any problems?

I don't know, I was told they were from a Maxima at the pawn shop, but I had to cut out the hole with a dremmel and then glue the housings in place. It took a little bit of time, and take good measurements before you go through with it in case the speaker you decide to implant is too deep. These were just deep enough, I had to cut a little bit of the "ribs" on the outer half of the housings so the rim of the speaker harness would sit flush with the housing surface. I cleaned up alot of plastic, it's thick too, my dremmel had the problem of over heating with this project. IT wasnt too bad, I could probably do it again with more ease, the first one has alot more glue on it because my cut wasn't round or the right diameter. They sound great though, really preserves the low end with them in housings.
