FS: Parting 1993 VE 5-speed

UPDATE:

Sold/Pending:

gauge cluster
rear bose amps
Transmission
Front door panels
kick panels
grille
rear calipers
tail lights
uppper intake
clutch line, carrier bracket james needs
valve covers
hood latch
triangle vent
sunroof visor and pillars
VTCs
Motor mounts
exhaust manifolds
steering wheel
stereo surround

Still a lot of stuff up for grabs.

Car was vandalized and has a bad engine. I know it threw a rod, but other components should still be good.

Nice velour interior. Well, front seats are nice. Back seats are stacked in the back. Needs cleaning, but not ripped or worn looking.

No radio, but most of the interior trim is intact (ignition area broken)

Body parts are mostly usable, but all have some dings and small dents. Left quarter and rear door damaged.

It looks like the stock exhaust is all intact, too.

I am keeping the fog lights, coil packs.

PM me if interested in anything.

more pics to come...

I opened the hood today. I am keeping the coil packs, starter and alternator. Everything else is up for sale.

Anything you might need, make an offer via PM.

I also have a stock size K&N panel filter. Make an offer on that, too. If the offer is good, I might even clean and oil it for you...

I might want a few more things:

Clutch hard line that runs from the clutch master cylinder to that distribution block

Hood struts (any good?)

there's a few other little things I know I want but I can't seem to think of them right now

Hood struts aren't too good. Hold for about 30 seconds, then slowly go down. Just like mine. I use a golf club now.

When I take the other stuff apart, I'll let you know. I have Monday off (unless someone calls in sick) so I will take some stuff apart, weather permitting.

For anyone else, make offers on stuff.

I took out the center console and gauge cluster. Stereo surround piece, anyone?

Interested in the 2 complete rear strut assemblies. I'm doing a rear drum -> rotor conversion. Are they in good shape?

I haven't looked. The car was on the road before the engine went on it (the owners are the ones that vandalized it). When I get to the rear, I will send you a PM.

Do you mean under the car or the mudflaps?

I am keeping the splash guards, since mine are shot. No mudflaps

The floor mats are gross. I don't think I could even clean them. Actually, I could only find two rear ones. Maybe the original owner took the fronts out.

sorry I couldn't help.

I also pulled the ECU, MAF and injectors out today.

Make an offer on a VE 5-speed ECU

6 injectors (red) in the rails

MAF with a K&N sticker on it. I think teh sticker is worth 5-10 extra hp!

I took everything out of the interior except the seats and carpet. Here is a list of stuff now in my basement for sale:

Center stack (stereo surround)
5-speed trim ring with shift boot (dirty)
gauge cluster (168k)
hvac controls
trim above steering wheel with all buttons intact (mirror, fogs, cruise)

I put the seats on CL, since I am not shipping them. I have someone local interested in the front two seats for a hot rod project. He needs to measure them.

Everything is in pretty good condition (nothing broken or chewed up) but it's kind of dirty. The back window was smashed out and dust/dirt got into the car since it was abandoned last summer.

here is a picture of the seats I put on CL:

Yeah, i was thinking about the "mud flaps".

If the rear mats are real fitted Maxima mats, are black, and a good pressure wash will make them look presentable- I'll take them.

PM me with an offer on the stuff you want. The surround is not damaged, but it's a bit dirty. I have it removed, but don't have time to clean it.

The steering wheel is in decent shape. It has some leather coming off near the cruise control buttons. I can take pictures if you want it.

I need to find someone with an airbag removal tool (star shaped thing). I have never removed an airbag before. I didn't realize it was unique.

To anyone else --

Sorry for the delays. I have had to work more than anticipated this week. Plus, we have had 30-40 mph winds all week and I haven't been able to get anything done. I will try to get some parts off tonight and give shipping quotes.

If you get the time to take a pic of the steering wheel I'd appreciate it. As for removing you can do what I did. Go to Sears and by a torque bit set.

someone has dibs on the VTCs. You should buy a new knock sensor harness. Those are known for deteriorating and normally when you replace your knock sensor, you do the harness or sub harness, too.

Hey bud,

What color is that car? is it black or dark green?

Could I get some pics of the hood, passenger fender, driver side door, and trunk. I could also use the window motors.

Thanks,
Alex

I have the window motors for you already. I need to pull the rear ones out. Sean was thinking about possibly meeting me Sunday. Not for sure until Friday, he said.

The car is black.

hood is bent -- probably not worth using.

Passenger fender has a dent (usable).

Driver door has some small dents (also usable). It also has terrible scratch where the broken mirror has been flopping around. It would need to be painted.

trunk is in good shape, but the spoiler is toast. I already sold the tail lights and center piece.

The trunk is the only part that doesn't need body work, unless you have a smashed car and just want something that isn't crunched.

I can take some better pictures tomorrow.

Here are a couple I have. The wood is on the spoiler to hold the trunk lid down. I had to remove the latch from the inside, since I don't have keys or power to hit the button.

Darn, almost none of that stuff seems usable, and i thought the car looked dark green :P

Sunday might work, it might be a squeeze as I have a prior commitment at 1:30pm, but send me a PM once everything is worked out.

Also it you have any spare wheels/tire with decent tread how much would you want for them? I need 2.

Cheers.

If you take the spoiler off, the trunk is the only nice piece. It is just dirty. I bought it from a farm area, with lots of dust.

I would sell all four wheels with the tires for $40. I want to get rid of all of them. I already have my OEM wheels. The wheels are pitted and have clear peeling, but I don't think they are damaged (bent).

The right rear has a good tire. The left one has OK tread, but it has feathering on the outside edge. I think possibly when it was towed before (not when I towed it) something might have been rubbing on it.

The front two tires are rollers. I think previous owner only replaced two at a time.

Do you know if the bose system was working? If so could I get the two little black preamp or amp things or whatever they're called that are in the trunk. Sorry but i don't completely know how systems work so I don't know their technical name but they are these little electronic units that are like right before the rear speakers in the trunk inside little black boxes.

thanks!

I don't know if they work or not. The car had an aftermarket system that was removed before I got it. The amps are still there in the back. Make me an offer on them if you want to try them out.

edit

I got your PM, replied

I need the following items:

1. The upper air box, this is the detachable plastic part that connects to the MAF, not the entire box, just this part.

2. approx 8x8in and 1cm thick metal bracket that you attach the speed or ABS sensor onto the rear strut knuckle (your ride must have a disc brake & abs). If you have the mounting bracket for the speed sensor, I'll take it too. It's probably much easier if you just pull the whole thing out together. I need both sides (passenger & driver) brackets, not the sensors.

How much would you charge plus shipping to 85635?

I still have the upper air box. Give me photos or diagrams of the other parts you are looking for. This car does not have ABS, but it does have disc brakes.

Send me a PM with your offers on the parts.

a bit of an odd request but does that car have these clips and in good shape/not cracked? Ive been on an unlucky search so far to find some new ones

they hold the line that runs under the battery tray to the evap canister and the brake & fuel lines at the back of the car right behind the gas tank

Sadly, the parts car is gone.

I had a lot of stuff going on and my wife made me get rid of it because it was taking up room in the back of our house. Plus, I got a motorcycle.

I still have:

airbag w/computer
stock shifter (use it to cut down?)
complete dark velour interior (locals interested?)
Stock cat-back (great shape -- locals only)
turn signal stalk
wiper stalk
stock air box
K&N panel filter
front braker caliper brackets
front spindles and hubs

I kept the heads (scrap aluminum), but the are messed up. I have the timing chain cover pieces if anyone is interested.

I have some other parts I had set aside for people. I will give them until probably August to come through and then I might put up some of it again.

thanks everyone that bought stuff and sorry to anyone I missed or didn't get a chance to pull parts for.

chris
