I just bought a vg30et I heard that he can get 360 hp out of the engine. Do I still get the 300zx single turbo parts or the maxima parts?

The parts you are referring to are probably his kit that includes ECU, cams, injectors and MAF. From what I have heard, this kit is the best upgrade for anyone looking for big VGT power. CHeck the web site. The only dif between the VGT and the vg in your Max is the intake manifold, ECU and injectors, lower comp pistons (7.8:1), and of course the turbo and exhaust manifolds. Get the 300zx VGT stuff.

Intake manifold on the Max, I've heard, is better then the one on the z31s...

Yup some z guys buy a max manifold and put it on their z. I find that to be very humorous.

No the heads are the same. If you want heads that are more efficient, go with vg33 heads. The valve angle are different, more efficient combustion. The intake lower collector on the max has larger ports. The upper is not necessarily better, but a stock max lower has ports that are the same size as the average ported z31 lower, so either is good. But if you port the max's lower a bit, that would be great for top end gains. Just watch you don't lose too much intake velocity, this will reduce the vg's volumetric efficiency, which is one of this engines many positive attributes. High intake and exhaust velocities are necessary to rretain this.

Ok so the max heads are different..apparently flow a little better doesn't sound like anything to get too excited over though. I have heard however the vg33 heads are a bit better than either max or vgt head. So far to my undrstanding, the best combination would be vg33 heads with the max intake. Sound reasonable?

yeah since the 89+ VG max intake has the power valve dual runner setup, i guess it would be a good choice over the pre-89 version...as for the VG33 heads, I'm not too versed on them so I can't really say.
