Battery Placement
Battery Placement
Since I am completely replacing the interior of a car, should I place my Optima battery in the trunk? I would consider doing this for 2 reasons. 1.) In the accident, battery acid went all over the place. 2.) That gives me more room under the hood to mount various items.
Where are you relocating the battery to? If anything just make sure it isn't hard to take out when you need to replcae the battery. Maybe you won't need to since I heard Optima Batteries last a long time. Go for it.
the only problem i could see you having is IF you wanted to autocross, i think that puts you in a different class. But if not, i would say go for it, build a box for it and route the wires back to the trunk.

BUY A BOX??? What the he*&?? I'm a machinist, only custom works for me. As for the autocrossing, by the time I add the intake, lightened flywheel, ECU, and exhasut I am really not too worried about the battery :-)
Thanx everyone
