I finally completed my cupholders
The pics are on another site right now cause my image hosting thing is still down. As soon as it's back up i'll have pics directly on this site. The current pictures aren't quite the final product. The current setup will hinder the hu from being able to open so i'm going to move the hu to the bottom and the tray to the top which should make it perfect. Hope you guys like the idea and copy it if you like it cause i don't care. (guess i should post the link... duh) http://www.maximanet.com/f0rums/thre...808&boardid=37

Personally, I don't like it. I would rather use the ones you get at the auto parts store that hang from the window onto the door panel. I'm not much into rigging that doesn't look factory. It devalues the car.
But, that is just my opinion. It's obvious you have a lot of thought and work into the idea.

i moved them up today to the top din spot and the hu in the lower spot. i have a lot more clearance and leg room. Uh... i can't really test it out right now. it will probably be next week before i know how they work cause my tranny parts are supposed to be in next week. I couldn't put it on the gxe because we're getting ready to sell it and i didn't want to do any damage to it. i'll test it out and let you guys know. Clearance wise, mine clears it, but i also have a sts. I'm pretty sure it would work with stock shifter. It is being held in by a nut and bolt on the bottom of it. These things are solid, i'm not worried of them falling off. The only thing i'm worried about is they might be too small to hold big drinks. If so i'll take them back and get a bigger version. RickC i totally understand what you mean. I tried the ones that hang on the window and they wouldn't stay so i was forced into making it this way. Looks kinda goofy but i had no choice.

well... i had the gxe first and i put in the import intelligence needle led things with a carbon fiber guage face. I then got the se cause i was sick of the auto and just swapped out the guages.

looks good! I hate the window things because they don't stay in tight and just look ****ty, but I guess they are a good alternative to doing permanant stuff. I think the best solution is really just to have another person ride along though, they hold better than most cup holders and can help keep your drink from spilling even under the most forceful VG acceleration Plus they can help w/directions, keep you company, and even shifr for you (nah I'm not that lazy...)
