tranny cooler ?'s

I was looking through my bro's Jegs cataloge and started looking at getting a trans cooler. I've noticed some guys on here that have them. Is less than a hundred bucks a good investement on one? Who makes the best brand...I saw 2 styles...radiator style and the other one looks like a tube w/ a filter in it...which cools better? Also...what GVM (I think) is recommended for our tranny???....93 auto
thanks for any info
-Blake

oh yeah...anyone have pics of their cooler installed?????

Go to carparts.com, and pick up a B&M one for like $50 or so. It comes with an install kit, and has superior cooling to the tube and fin design that some of the less expensive coolers utilize. It is good insurance for an aging tranny, yes.

I bought my Hayden at Pep Boys for $25.00 or something like that. If you live in a cold climate try not to get too large of a cooler, because your tranny fluid will not be able to warm up as quickly causing excessive slipping.

picked one up the other day at pep boys for $43 and it took about 1 hour to install. i check my tranny temp. before and after and about 20 degree drop so it is a great idea and also looks kinda cool under the hood. only bad thing is that you have to run the hoses under the front bumper so what ever you do do not run up on a curb after you do the install. you will cut your lines and you will not be going anywhere. so have fun and keep that automagic cool.

You only need the 16,000 one:

-Supercooler #70255
16,000 GVW 11 x 5.75 x 0.75"

Any bigger ones will cause you problems in the wintertime.
