ngthing has M3 mirrors on his third gen. I don't think he has it with the LED lights. E-mail him.

Like what? What are some of these guys going to do 3,000 miles away? Have you ever filed a police report on someone in another state or have tried to legally resolve a dispute over a long distance? If so, let me know how that went and how much work it was. I've been lucky in this regard but have not done much business w/ known dishonest people either.

well if you send a money order, the post office has a service for you
and if you send a check the bank will go after the person,
paypal also has a service
and if you send cash your not too bright.
If your gonna buy from someone you dont know you have to take precautions, some of these people say he ripped them off for more then $600, thats a fair amount of money to me and I would make every attempt to get it back, instead of just complaining.

but like I said, out of all the people not 1 has done anything about it.

I emailed the other guy but he hasn't replied to me. The $600 guy said he paid by palpal and tried to dispute it w/ them but Jonathan Ng closed his paypal account. Hmmmmmm

Thanks for the info. I know of these services. But my specific question was "have you ever taken action against someone in another state?" By your reply, I will assume no.

no I havent because I take the precautions to make sure I wont be screwed and if I did, It wouldnt be hard to get my money back.
I assume your asking because you feel or think it is difficult and your trying to make a point or to prove or give an excuse for all the people who claim to have been ripped off but dont do anything,
it may be hard or inconvient but is it impossible? not worth $600 or even $200?

I missed this but Im pretty sure when you pay pay pal you get a reciept, and im sure they still have records of the transaction, and also when you send money I think they provide the sellers address.

Yeah I try to take precautions too. At some point, you are going to have to trust the other party. If he is going to screw you, he gonna do it. It's what you do after that counts(and what info you get before)

I think it's IS fairly difficult. For one, I've never had to persue someone and neither have you. I think only someone who has done this process before could really comment(thus my question). NOT TO TRY TO PROVE OR MAKE EXCUSES. Wrong assumtion on your part but that's ok.

So, the $600 guy used paypal but unfortunately, NGthing closed his account. What now?

I added it later sorry. So what if he has the address? If he's 3,000 miles away, now what? I think the other guy even contacted the local washington state authorities but they basicly laughed at him. Mail fraud might be the next step but proof will be difficult.

I would speak to someone knowledgeable on the subject and see what they would suggest. but if the item was shipped ( he said he did get something,) so hes got an address, hes got his name. I didnt get ripped off, but I would be finding out answers to these questions if I did. anyways I was just making a comment, because I would reccomend him as a seller.

Well that's where it gets tricky but anyhow, you would recommend him and I would not. Just a difference in opinion that's all.

and I respect that you can hold a mature conversation (not typical on this board or most others)

my point was for $600 I would be looking into every option,

Hold on a sec... wasn't this thread about someone looking for M3 mirrors?? where did it turn into a "pros and cons of buying from Jon" thread?

correct me if I'm wrong guys but I also read and wrote about this on a previous thread and someone told me that the M3 mirrors that Ngthing were customed fitted and that it can be for the Civics or Accords but didn't tell me exactly what year or for what model

now Ngthing said that he found those laying around in his garage so even doesn't know for what car they are exactly made for and to make them fit he had to do some light cutting.

BTW, M3's don't come with the LED's on the mirrors cuz someone told me that but I wouldn't know. <--- correct me if I'm wrong though.
