luggage rack disease problem!!!!
I have this 89 maxima and it's a pretty decent looking car. But I have this luggage rack on the car and it really takes away from it. (It was members of the org who killed it remember anyone?? maxima.cardomain.com/id/smoothmaxima). Well I can simply just screw the thing off, but my trunk will still have the wholes in it. I really want to get rid of it what should I do??...Will I have to get a whole new trunk?..if that's the case the rack is nice
Help
..it came on the car and it took me 2 years to realize it sux!!

The holes are not big at all it's just some little screws but the holes are big enough to notice when it's off. Body filler what do you mean by that?...And how much you think a new trunk lid would cost me?

I would say it would cost maybe $100 for a trunk from a junk yard...but some places think they have gold and charge outrageous prices. So shop around and see what you find.
I think car-part.com is a good place to start.

The reason I say not to fill it in and paint it is because it will get expensive and unless you have done paint before do not try to do the silver frost paint yourself. Silver is a very hard color to paint because it is metalic and will run real easy and will also streak.
I guess the best thing to do is call a local body shop and tell them what you want done and see what kind of price they give you.
Then try and find a whole trunk(in your color) and see how much that costs. go the cheapest way.
