I notice that when its very cold, 15 right now, if my car sits for a long time, it will stumble when first starting.

Car sat for a full 24hours. 15 outside. I start her and she fires right up but only to around 1200...not the normal 1500. Then about 2 seconds after starting it almsot dies, like 500, and then jumps back up to 1200. It only will do this that initial time. If its real cold out, like 0, it may start and then die. But then I'll start her up and she's fine. Deff gets more exagerated with colder temps. I don't worry about it cuz she starts so well all the time. Just wondering why it could do this? I also have newish wires, plugs, cap, rotor, fuel filter, etc.

do you let the fuel pump prime the engine when you first start it?

mine does the exact opposite.. it does that when it's hot outside, but not when it's cold.
when it's cold, I turn the key, hear the starter crank over about 2-3 times (1/2 second), then VROOM! it's running.. immediately jumps to 1500.

Well, just for ****s and giggles......

I did prime it tonight. I waited until I heard the fuel pump stop. Then started it. It always fires up even when very cold....just that quirk. No sweat here tho. I don't think it matters if it is primed or not....i'll try no prim tomm morning.

BTW: Don't you love massive CCA I got the Red top.....I know you got the megatron. AHh.....800CCA at 0 degrees....1000 when normal temps Cranks up like a different car since replacing the 93 Nissan battery.....which actually was fine.

yeah, it's amazing how fast they crank on a good battery..

the fun part is after leaving my car on my 40A battery charger all night, then starting it up in the morning... WOW!

My car was garaged last night, like it is every night, but it was abou 20 degrees this morning when I started it and it started right up. No hesitations.

Well Mike, I'll tell ya..... it's probably -15 or so here where I'm at in North Dakota (or is that North HELL....), and I prime my engine before I start it, and I've had no problems on THAT front, so far (can U hear me knocking on wood??).
