what's up 3rd gen maxima owners..i have a 93 maxima 85k original engine and tranny..when i start the car the oil light blinks b4 it goes out..i have checked the oil and it is fulled to capacity with no leaks..(at least that i visibly Know of)..i was told it may just b a sensor but am still worried..does any one out there have or had this problem and know the remedy...

What oil filter you using?? Using one w/o the anti-drain back valve might cause this.

Do the RPM's dip when the light comes on? The light will come on if the rpms drop too much..so it may not be an oil psi problem could be an idling prob. Mine stays on for up to 4 sec or more sometimes before it goes off(not good i dont think)

4-sec? Man I don't like the sounds of that one. I might want to guess low oil level or a oil pump giving up the ghost.

Hehe..yeah..for that 4 sec the rods n valves clack away too...
Im guessing bearing clearances, and/or oil pump. If i get into the motor ill proly replace the oil pump, rod bearings, and pull off the heads and clean everything out of them. Part of the prob is crap in the oil, from not having oil changes at the proper intervals. Ill proly just get a new motor tho...dont have a shop to do any indepth stuff in really

YEAH I WILL TRY A NEW OIL FILTER THAT CAN BE IT..SHOULD I USE THE STOCK NISSAN ONE OR IS THEIR A GOOD ONE U GUYS RECOMMEND

Id go with OEM nissan...bout 7 bucks and was made for the car
