Replacing Engine with factory or replace crankshaft?

Hi Guys,

I have finally calmed down and I am ready to fix my hunk of junk up. I had two estimates so far...One was for replacing my engine with a factory engine with 36,000 KM. It would run me $2000 (Canadian)approx. $1300 U.S. Or I can just have my crankshaft replaced for about $1500/$1000US. Longterm I am thinking the factory engine since my max is at 197,000KMS, short term as well as because I know my engine is in good shape I would select replacing the shaft. Any suggestions?

definately get a 36k engine for sure and while you are at it rebuild the internals with je pistons, bores and stroked out

If that $1200 USD includes install + warrenty go for it. Otherwise you'd have to get another crank + bearings and have the block + crank machined. It is way easier to install a motor than to build one.
