Almost rear ended today
I was coming to a stop where I would wait turn left into my appartment complex. Its a two lane road downhill and it had been raining. As I was coming to a stop, I saw a Volvo Cross Country thing run up on me too fast to stop. I rolled up almost past the driveway to give him the extra feet he needed. As soon as he appeared to stop he lurched toward me again so I floored it which resulted in a lot of steam and just barely enough escape velocity. I turned left into the next drive and began to back out so I could go up to my road. When I was backing out I saw that the Vovlo had been slammed by a Thunderbird. No one was hurt luckily. The Thunderbird was crunched up to the motor, the Volvo may need a new bumper cover. The Volvo driver was a kid with his mother and sister in the car, I felt bad for him. He looked both shaken and ****ed.
Anyway just so this post has a purpose, what if I had been rear-ended and totalled? I'd get $3000 at best for my car (199k miles). Makes me question my plans to put leather seats in and rebuild the powertrain in the next few years. Any thoughts?
ps I saw a nice '98 3.2TL for sale this morning.
