Mine were crappy! They've been like that for about a year, but it only took about 30 mins. to put new ones on. Alot more helpful and convenient.

since we are in this category, i have a question, does anyone know how my trunk can open automatically when i press the button from the keyless entry keychain. So it will lift up by it self. Thanks for your help in advance. And my hood struts are getting weak, one time i was cleaning the engine and i went to get something and when i come back and was going to look at the engine, the hood just slowly came down by itself so from then i always hold the hood with my one hand or i ask someone else to hold it..

If you have the 'option' button on your keychain you can do it. Try to find a wiring diagram for your keyless system and your car. Maximas have a solenoid I belive and it can be triggered with the correct jumble of wires and a relay. However, if your remote lacks the 'option' button you're SOL.

no i can already open the trunk from the keyless entry but when i press the switch the trunk doesn't come up but it stays down, and it will be unlock but i will have to go and lift the trunk up, i was thinking if there was something i can do so it will lift by itself when i press the switch....

The new 7 series have this feature. Prevents bellhops from scratching the trunk as they go to open and close it.

yeah, you'll need to design a motor to rev it up and down. Maybe you can jerry rig something off of the antenna motor. Just put in a fixed antenna and then connect the motor to the solinoid that unlocks the trunk to open and close it. probably need for FSM to know what wires to connect where

Funny thing.. I took off my spoiler. The weight of the spoiler made a BIG difference in the way the trunk opens! Now it flies up HARD. I have to pop it from the lever with my right hand, my back to the car then quick catch the lid with my left palm before it flies up and bounces off the stops. Must be funny to people around me watching.

I just hold the hood up with a golf club. And why the hell do you guys want trunks that pop open? Haha, and I thought I was lazy.

my old wooden ice scraper worked awesome on my old car. It held the hood up perfectly, but on a very windy day...look out! The supports on the new car hold up really well(looks for helmet)
