manual tranny support rod plate

hey guys, i got a bit of a problem
the plate that bolts onto my tranny that holds the support rod for for my shifter has cracked. i want to get the plate off and just get it welded, but if thats not possible ill just find one at a junkyard.
my problem is that the upper bolt is stuck on. ive tried almost everything from liquid wrench to socket extensions and just brute force. but nothin seems to be working. i guess 11 years of water, heat, and salt take their toll. any tips you guys can help me with would be much appreciated. im lookin to put the pacesetter sts in but this must be fixed first.
thanks for any replies

maybe some sort of air tool. i know a "burp gun" won't fit in there but maybe on the the 90 degree air tools would do it. another thing i would say is try to get some more leverage like a pipe or something but becareful and try not to break it. when you order the sts i think they also have some urethane bushings for our cars... GET IT. i really need to get one for mine cause right now i'm kind of disapointed with my pacesetter sts.

thanks for the reply
ill have access to a few air tools in a week or so, so hopefully somethin will work. ive already had a ton of problems with the rubber bushing thats on there right now. the rod actually slid right off and made it almost inpossible to drive. thanks for the warning though

i'm not sure where to find that bushing right yet. it says on my instruction sheet that they have them for our cars but i've not been able to find them so i e-mailed pacesetter. when they give me a reply i'll let you know where to get it.
