ABS connector wire & Floor Jack....!!!

I have two things to ask you guys...

1. ABS connecting wire
2. Floor jack with jack stands, is it worth $100?

1. I have the ABS light on in the instrument panel. I was able to pin down to a connecting wire. The connecting wire is the one runs up from the ABS sensor attached close the front left wheel. The wire is thick but looks like it was scracthing against some thing and got cut.. !!!

So I checked price for the wire at Courtesy it is $99 just for the wire...
Are there any cheaper alternatives...

2. This is a simple one... But dont get over me becos I am a dumb newbie..

I am planning to replace the front bearing this weekend. So I have to buy Floor Jack and Jack stands. I thought of going for Craftman brand .. I have got some choices there 2 1/2 , 3 and 3 1/2 ton..
The lowest is 49.99 For 3 1/2 ton (Floor Jack and Jack stands) it is $99..
I don't mind spending $100 since it is long term tool... But is it worth and is it needed for MAxima..

give your opinion..

Appreciate your feed back

I don't think you'd need the 3.5 ton one for a Max, you should be fine with the 2.5 I believe. 1 ton = 2240 pounds, so a 2.5 ton set will support approx 5500 pounds. Our Max's, with systems in the trunk, weigh about 3400 max. So IMO you should get the cheaper 2.5 ton set...they are a worthwhile investment!

I hadt he same thing happen to my wire, it rubbed through and got cut. The wire isn't too difficult to remove from the car, so I just took it out, cur it off evenly, and attached a 3" section of speaker wire and soldered it on good, then wrapped it up nice and tight with electrical tape (after I reinstalled as much of the rubber insulation as I could). That was about a month ago, and no problems since.

Get a jack that can actually raise the car up HIGH. The higher you get the car up (safely) the easier you can get to do work in the future.

It may seem pointless to buy a 5 ton jack, but my gf's father has one for his van, and i use it on my car. That thing is sweet, raises up HIGH and is very strong.
