Throtte body

I was thinking to clean the throttle body on my car. I have 93 maxima SOHC. But when I removed the air assembly and looked into the throttle bod, I didnot find anything inside, just a hollow passage that was already clean. I used instructions on http://www.motorvate.ca/auto/maxima/...y_cleaning.htm for the job. Perhaps my car cannot be cleaned as described on the website.

Can someone please help me figure out how can I clean the throttle body on my SOHC max.

Thanks

check the 3rd gen FAQ post at teh top of this forum

I have directions on my site for cleaning it for the DOHC (92-94SE engine) and links to another site with SOHC instructions.
Once you take off the intake piping, you should see two butterfly valves (2 since you have the SOHC, DOHC only has 1). These valves will open and close when you move the throttle cable. Just try to clean the dirt out of that area.

Thanks for your reply.

I checked your website and found the instructions for DOHC max. Mine is SOHC cam. Do you know about the intructions specifically for SOHC
engine. After taking off the intake pipe, I dont see any kinda valves. Its a simple hollow passage with nothing in it to clean.

Sorry, I guess it is kind of hidden. If you go to the how-to section, choose cleaning throttle body. That page has the instructions for the VE on it and on that page, there are also 2 links to the VG instructions

here are the links:
