New Max

Hey everyone. I cannot wait till Wednesday. Wednesday I am going to be picking up an 89 Max SE w/ 5spd, leather, power everything, Its loaded it has 160000 miles but all major maintenece has been done. It has brand new clutch from 3 months ago the engine purs like a kitten and it pulls strong for the VG. I just have a couple of ? Is there anything i should worry about tat would be costly because i have heard about the exhaust studs but i did not know if it was just for the VE. Any help and/or pointers would be appreciated. Thanks

~Mike~

im planing on modding the car so do you think that it should hold up with the move power available....my plans are intake, exhaust, ypipe,UDP,possibly cams,is there other things that i can do also i know it is possible to do a custom turbo but i don't know if the engine will take with its age. Any advice is appreciated.
thanks

Mike:
If you plan on making the car faster, my advise to you would be to buy 2 extra trannys and learn how to take one out and put it back in in a day. Trust me. I slapped a bunch of bolt-ons and nitrous on mine and the next thing I knew I was trashing my second tranny. Still sitting in my lot, too. Anyone have a good tranny for me??

hey, congrats on getting your max. my friend's dad has an 89 with about 210+ miles on it and it's still running as good as when he got it. you'll be suprised how long it'll last if you take care of it. best of luck!
