Max O/D's TURBO 92 GXE UPDATE(page 7)--->

EDIT:

JUST AN UPDATE THE PICS HAVE BEEN UPLOADED ONTO A NEW SERVER!!!! see them here-->

http://autos.werd.com/boosted/TURBO_92_GXE/

as you can see its nothing but the TRUTH...its in the final stages though...some of the remaining things left to do is heat coat the charge pipes and "pretty" them up a little! The remaining IC piping and downpipe should be done by Friday or Saturday...so chances are I might have some more pics for you guys next week and maybe even some vids. The car goes in for body work as well soon, Skyline tails and custom Skyline front bumper with big mouth opening for the FMIC! I'll post the complete specs of the setup later, but for now enjoy these pics, I would have taken more, but it got dark and I forgot the memory card for my camera. ENJOY!

very nice
looks like he took out the radiator fans, but without a hood, it wont make that much of a difference

good job, I guess you didn't take a ride in it yet
any estimates from him on HP or anything like that?

Holy moly that's Jalil's car! He's a great guy and he'll talk your ear off about 3rd gens if you ever get to meet him, even has hookups and contacts all around the DC area. Can't wait to see that thing move! When I saw him last he told me realistically about 400-450hp (but said engine can take 550hp) with him running in the 13s easily. With the boost controller though I wouldn't be surprised to see some 12s.

Talk about the ultimate 3rd gen, and it's an auto-magic!!

Interesting...

Like to see it when it's done. Looks like a lot is still missing besides the bumper. How is the exhuast run, it wasn't clear in the photos(i.e. crossover pipe from rear manifold)?

Dysfunctional, yeah Jahlil is a great guy, loves(and I mean LOVES..) to mod his third gen, I have to say, when it comes to extreme mods and being unique I have to give my man Jahlil props! The reason he posted pics is simply because hes not the type to hide the pics, he loves to talk about and help people out with 3rd gen mods and stuff too, plus a lot of people doubted his sick N/A setup, so he knoew they would flip out when he showed his turbo pics!

Siege, he's using Z31 front and rear manifolds and a custom crossover. downpipe is not done yet, should be done this weekend he told me. The front bumper should be sick too!!!

I have some "before" pics of his max. Did he ever finish the tails? I remember him telling me that he wasn't done with them when I last saw it.

MORE PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gotta represent for Scott of Hi-Flow Custom Exhaust in Falls Church, VA...the man can bend pipes like no other!!

the rest of these pics basically show the finishing touches before Jahili sends them in to heat coated and prettied up. the custom crossver was put in place, the compressor side of the turbo was rotated inorder to accomodate the charge piping, then Scott bent and installed the downpipie in little under 30 minutes, totally custom bent with a flex section...looks sick!!! next measurements were made for the turbo to intake piping, after we got all that straight it was welded up and we made a mock setup of how its gonna look...only thing missing is another silicone connector for the MAF and a MAF adapter to put the cone filter on! basically today I got pics of the underbody and the downpipe and intake piping...Jahlil tells me estimated time of completion as far as mechanical **** goes, NEXT WEEK!!!!!! so far everything is going great...enjoy the pics, MUCH, MUCH more to come!

MORE PICS HERE----->>

Was there a reason the stock crossover pipe couldnt be used? or did he just get one made because he didnt have one?

the stock crossover is smaller in diameter and with the heatsheilding it would be a ***** to clear over the automatic tranny and the radiator hose and some of the elecronics over there...but on a 5spd it might work since there is more room over the tranny, but it might be more restrictive than a custom one.

cross over

If you do the z31 swap u will notice a coolant pipe that runs under the intake manifold on the z31 its very small probably why it had frequent overheating.On the maxima the line is the same but much bigger like twice the size here Iam thinking why not use the coolant line from the max more coolant flow cooler consitent tempertures.The cross over from the z31 might fit a 5speed since there trannies are smaller on the auto the shelding on the pipe gets in the way on the auto plus the piping is smaller also I had to make clearance for the coolant pipe.

I don't like to make the pics really big for the sake of the 56k'ers still out there ...sorry man. but I'll be sure to have plenty of vids and sound files once Jalil gets this beast running, thats for sure!!!!

and male, he's got a plan for the cooling system, but I'll let him explain!
