Somethin i read in...(gasp) Super Street..
Anyway does anyone remember the thread awhile back about putting a pathfinder engine in the max. well i was reading an article on Christian Rado's 1000hp drag celica and instead of using the 2ZZ he used they built a larger displacement tacoma engine. granted it had a drag turbo capable of producing uo to 1300 hp but it just shows tha the swap frm vg30 to 33 is possible and beneficial. now whos gonna be first to front the dough?

that's a swap into a heavily modified chassis/body/everything else to get that motor to fit and is strictly a drag car and not streetable. While i'm not saying a VG33 swap isn't feasible you're comparing apples to oranges...

And your point is? There are kits out there to drop 454 Chevy engines into Porsche 944 chassis.
So?
while you're at it, why even stay with a nissan engine? Youll have to change EVERYTHING already anyway, so why not just drop a small block chevy in there and have 300 reliable horses.
It takes money to play. How rich are you?

have you even looked under the car of the max? the cat converter barely meets ground clearance.. there is no way a max can ever be RWD and be street driven

From what I understand, the vg33 is VERY similar to any other vg. As far a peripherals go, I don't know, but if wanted to utilize the bottmo end for bigger displacement, you'd get 3.3 liters and the same reliable crank and rods as all other vg's. Head are different, but I've been told they have minor differences and can be used (benficial actually, supposedly slightly better efficiency/flow), changing the truck cams out of course. Drop some forged vgt pistons in and you've goit the base for a bad *** turbo motor. Z31 guys have used this very effectively.

nothing is out of the question...the key word to this whole issue is more money, more effort and less talking! ![Big Grin](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

money issue aside, how hard would it be to implant a 3.5 VQ? would our car take to it very well? i know not many know the answer to this question, but any info on it would feed my curiosity
