Pacesetter STS

Has anyone ever had a problem with their pacesetter where when the car warms up the shifter is near impossible to shift? when it's hot inside the car or when the car warms up the shifter is a pain to shift. i can move it over and it won't spring back. but when it's cold outside and the shift lever is cold it shifts fine and will spring back into place. it's like the ball is expanding and pinching real bad or something. any ideas?? thanks.

Did you lube up all the parts you were supposed to with that little packet of silicone lubricant that (should have) came with it? Because it's more imporatnt thatn you might think. If that's not the case, maybe you tightened something too tight, or not tight enough?

I have the Pacesetter fully adjustable one. Not sure if you have this one or not.

What do you mean near impossible to shift? Meaning you cant get it into gear?

Or do you just mean when in nuetral the shifter wont automatically spring back into the middle? If so (which it sounds like), this is just due to that spring becoming worn/used/old etc. I guess if it really bugs you you could buy a new one.

Another thing it could possibly be is the bottom of the shifter (where it connects to the linkage) rubbing against the heat shield plate if you didnt cut a big enough hole in it (or dent it down enough) to accommodate for how much farther it sticks out down there than the stock one.

i definately lubed everything up a lot. i know it's not hitting the heat shield. i think there is a possibility the bolts are too tight though. i'll check that out. when the shifter (the whole metal piece) gets hot it's a big pain in the but to move. it's to hard to move left, right, up, or down. the srping is fine because when it's cold it will spring right back into place with no trouble at all. i'll check the bolts.

does anyone know about the polyurethane shifter stabilizer bushings that PaceSetter's instruction sheet says they offer??? I called them and they said they don't make any of those for Nissans but their papaer clearly says they do!! Anyone have any info on this? Thanks.

are you talking about the plate that one of the shifter rods goes on and bolts on to the tranny? i would just check a junk yard. mine is being held on with one bold which is killing me. the guy i bought the tranny off of said it was in perfect condition but two of the bolt holes are stripped so now i have to take it out and re-thread those sometime
