This story is exactly why I am glad I did my first 6 months of driving in the classic 1985 oldmobile Delta 88. 4000 pounds of pure sluggishness(120 hp out of a V8!!!), no abs,no traction control etc. Once I got past driving in snow in that car and rain and everything else I was a lot more confident becuase it is a pain to drive in chicago winters. Taught me a lot about not pushing things to limits and driving without a car that can get you out of situations. If you screwed up in that car you are sliding, looking stupid, spinning wheels. 17 1/2 now with no accidents, tickets etc.

But after seeing my freinds getting new Jeep libertys, Dodge Neons, honda civics, S2000, BMW's and crashing them in the rain, or sliding and getting in accidents I realized why I will find one of those huge GM cars for my kids some day. Will teach them patience, respect, and how slow cars can be.

Or get 'em a big old pickup truck. B4 i got the maxima my first two vehicles were pickup trucks. HAHA, what fun. the only thing i miss about those things, were the rear-wheel drives. My old mazda pickup was so slow, i had to shift up to 3rd just to get it past 35. My max does that in first.

Dunno if this is slightly off topic or not
but i seriously appreciate my car
this being my first car and first real investment
i'm saying this because the past two weeks i haven't been able to drive it because i have to get the axle fixed (which i'm gonna do but insurance has to be paid first....damned insurance) so i'm back to driving my mom's tracker and theres a huge difference plus the fact that when she wants her car i have no choice but to give it to her
i miss my car.....
sorry just had to share

Hey ya all, well i want to the court today, it was my court date today, oct. 31 at 1:30 so i had to skip school at 1:00 and my dad came to pick me up from school and we went straight to the court. Well anyways, you won't believe what happened. I been praying to the god that i really wanted to get out of this, and i was also praying to the god to do something so the other guy who i got into accident with won't come to the court. SO today i went there, they called my name and i went up there with my dad since i am 16, and they called the other guys name, but the other guy wasn't there, so the judge didn't even say anything to me or ask me any question, he just handed me my license back, and then that was it. I didn't have to pay any fine or go to traffic school. And i was so happy and i am lucky. Well i guess god knew i was sorry and he helped me. And Thank You everyone at Maxima.org for your help... but i still have some question, is this still going to be on my record? And about my max, i am fixing it slowly, since i am low on money, yesterday i just ordered the left side mirror that got broken for 50 bucks, and i still have to order the new window regulator for the front passange side window, well anyways. Happy Halloween!!!...........

Glad you got a break..be alot more careful now that you got your licence back..you already know the consequences of reckless drving.

You should go to junkyards..$50 for the mirror is a good price if it's new, but at a junk yard it'll probably cost you like $20-25.

good luck and be safe.

Hi, Thank you all for a warm welcome. And don't worry, i learned from my mistake and i won't be going fast, i haven't driven the max for 2 month but i only have 1 month to go, i am getting the max back from my dad in begining of december as an early christmas present, and belive me i don't want to do anything stupid like this, or i will lose my max forever and i don't want that to happen. And sudesh i got just the glass thing from the driverside, somehow during the accident the driverside mirror was not damged but the glass inside it cracked so i just bought Glass of the driver side mirror with heated and automatic option for 50 bucks from the dealer and its new. I know its too much money and i asked them for the whole mirror just to check the price and they told me 250 and not installed. So that is alot expensive and the 50 bucks i paid is just for the mirror and not installing it, but i will install it myself, i am supposed to go pick up the mirror on monday. i should have gone to the junkyard, but maybe next time. nardo'89SE, why is my car ugly?, and don't tell me the GTR badges, i know they are already making my car ugly, hehe. And i do know how to drive, but i was driving the car fast before but belive me, nothing like this will ever happen again. And i have one more question, is this accident going to count against me and will my insurance rise, cause i just renew my insurance policy two days ago and paid the same amount as i been paying before. And Jason(N34JZ) looks like you got your car back from the body shop, Looks Nice. Thank You all once again......

well the insurance is under my sister's name and i am just added " part time driver", so this accident will still affect me, because i didn't have to pay any fine or go to traffic school, and i didn't have to say anything, so i thought that it will be like no one's fault and the case of the accident got canceled or something since the other guy didn't come..........

Even if you weren't on your sisters insurance, because of an accident, you would have gotten on. When you get into an accident with someone else's insurance=if they're a family member, and you live in the same home, you'll get added because there's always the potential for you drive the car again, and since you're a risk for accidents, they'll increase the insurance alot. It happened to me with my moms insurance on my stanza, got in a fight with a bus, the bus won, the stanza survived, but insurance went up and I got added to the policy.

Regardless of your court appointment, if your sisters insurace had to pay any money to repair the other guys car, then your insurance will go up. The court appointment only concerned your licence, not the insurance.
