exhaust manifold leak/ leather seat
#1
I bought a 1992 se 5 speed dohc a few months ago. It is in imaculate condition and was obviously well maintained. I had an exhaust leak, It was a broken manifold bolt on the front and the back bolts were loose.I had it repaired and 3 weeks later the leak returned, this time it is a broken bolt on the rear side.Is this a common problem ? Can anyone tell me what causes it.I am an adult driver and don't drive it hard.I love the car however I can't keep fixing this problem if it is going to continue to happen. Any help would be appreciated. Also, the only thing worn a little is the drivers side seat. It is tan leather.I located a company , Katskins, that has a replacement cover . Does anyone know how they look and if they match the original interior and how hard are they to install. I would just like to find a whole used seat however I haven't been able to locate one. Does anyone know where I might find one?If anyone can help with either of these things feel free to e-mail me thanks,onegoode@aol.com

The broken exhaust studs are a common thing on a third gen, it is best to have them all replaced when one breaks. Nissan didn't use a strong enough bolt, they have since corrected the problem and upgraded the bolts, you can't buy the old one's anymore.

If you would like to restore your seat, this is the place to check out: http://www.Leatherique.com/
The dyes used in the Maximas, like everyone else, are sprayed on like paint, and wear off in time. The above mentioned company can mix a dye to match the existing interior.
