Are octane boosters/Injector cleaners safe for our cars?

When I got my maxima, the previous owner had told us that it needs hi quality gas(91), but that it isn't safe to use octane boosters or injector cleaners, that it'll ruin the engine. I did a search, and I know the gas thing is right, and others use octane boosters/injector cleaner, but will it harm anything?

I have had 3 Maximas since 1994 and have used Chevron Fuel System cleaner in every one of them with no problems at all. I would personally be hesitant about octane boosters unless it was certified to be safe on oxygen sensors and fuel injectors.

check out redline's stuff at www.myoilshop.com. their stuff claims to not damage seals or anything. i use redline mt-90, water wetter, as thier injection cleaner. i felt/see a difference.

if you decide not to go with redline, use a cleaner with techron in it. i don't recommend using this a lot though.
