I've got a 1989 Maxima SE, engine is stock, and the last
two rainstorms we've had I can't get it to start. It
cranks perfectly but will never catch. I've tried the
STP 'dry gas' stuff. Anybody know anything else I can
check?

 

i has this same prob when i first got my max. my prob. was the roto cap and distributer cap. i had a hairline crack in my dist. cap that was letting moisture in everytime it rained or i went through a puddle. take off the cap, wipe out the inside, check for moisture. even if its hard to see it still might be there. i replaced my dist cap and rotocap for under $30 in about 5 min. also check the roto cap, it might be starting to wear. if you have any questions about this, just ask. this may not be your prob. but theres a good chance it is.
