Exedy is a stock clutch replacement setup, not bad at all but not near a ACT 6 puck w/ Heavy duty pressure plate like I have, and not close to the ACT Dual Friction either w/ heavy duty pressure plate. IF you are gonna do it, do it right , and also do the flywheel at the same time, believe me it is WELL WORTH IT! I love my car now, before I hated it and just wanted to chuck the thing over a cliff literally because it was slow as **** with the stock clutch, which is what the exedy is.

Let me guess you saw Eclutchmasters.com selling the clutch kit on ebay for $125.00???

They are a good company and also have great performance clutches but I am an ACT HDR^ clutch kit and AASCO 11lbs flywheel owner and will never have anything less then a 6 puck setup with 11lbs flywheel on my max!

I already bought the lightweight flywheel and want a good clutch but my god the $ of the clutch flywheel combo is 1/3 of what I paid for the car, so i was just trying out a possibility but screw it might as well get the best, but which act clutch would be the best, the modified street disk, centerforce, or the 6 puck?

I personally would not recommend the 6 puck to most people unless you are a very good 5-speed driver because it pulls really hard and really fast, great for the track and also i think for the street as there is no break in time needed, but most would like the sprung hub style clutch which I do not have. I recommend you get the ACT Dual Friction style clutch disc with the Heavey duty pressure plate for the best of drivability and also pickup on the street.

no problem about what you wrote, and also I am not BSing either, the AASCO 11lbs flywheel and ACT HDR6 clutch kit made a huge difference in my 92 SE maxima with the VE30DE engine, and my VE30DE engine's valves hadn't even been adjusted and the car is in the shop presently receiveing a valve adjustment, and possibly Lifters replaced among other things right now!

I wanted the ACT, but couldn't find it quick enough. I've got the Exedy clutch and It's fine. But like Jared says the flywheel, it makes a HUGE difference.

Exedy near stock replacement (they say 10% over OEM), and AASCO flywheel. That combo is working just fine to me.

I think it might be time for a clutch replacement. I have a '92 SE with 155k and still on the original clutch . I don't have any problems but realize that the day is coming when I'll need to get it replaced.

Has anyone out there replaced their own clutch? Is this 6 puck unit one that a professional installer has to do?

Please advise, my car still runs strong and does burnouts all the way through first gear..

can anybody tell me where i can get a really good deal on the 6 puck clutch and the AASCO 11 lb flywheel?? i am looking to get a 5 speed tranny for my 89 SE and am seriuosly thinking of getting a new cluch and flywheel as well....does anybody know of any good online sites or maybe a shop around their place?

for those who've had the clutch and flywheel put in...what is the average cost of having a new clutch and the flywheel put in at a shop? the labor rate around here is 48/hour.

the clutch install if you replace the pilot bearing, and throw out bearing as recommended with the installation of a new flywheel or resurfacing of the stock and the clutch disc and pressure plate is possibly a DIY job if you have a lift to drop the half shaft on the drivers side front and the tranny off, however if you do not have a lift or do not have the experience then I highly recommend you spend around $300 and get it done professionally and done right or else you may have some major cluthc chattering and also have problems done the road if everything is not torqued down right.

As for where you can get the parts...

1) AASCO 11 lbs flywheel... Stillen (ask for Dean and tell him Jared Seymour referred you I am Jared), Call up Maximum Tuning (their page is in the link area), Courtesy Nissan (Talk to Kaleb if he is still there or Brian), Or deal with someone like SOuthwest Autoworks, or Cattmann.

2) ACT HDR6 Clutch kit consisting of 6 puck clutch disc and heavy duty pressure plate... Stillen (again talk to Dean or Hamilton), COurtesy Nissan, Nopi, or ACT directly

Need more info email me or call me at home (859) 224-9551 anytime till midnight EST
