Waxing Stains

Howdy. I waxed my car a couple of days ago, and i must have got some wax on the rubber thats around the windows and it left a white stain on the rubber. I tried cleaning it off, but it won't come. Did I stain it for good??? HELP!!

Try warm soapy water and a plastic bristle brush. If no luck, try black gold. Forget who makes it..Maguires? Heard it works well for this kind of stuff.

This my sound a bit strange, but I read in a auto detailing book that the best thing to do is:

1. Take some peanut butter and warm it up in the microwave. (not very hot but just warm)
2. Get a old toothbrush
3. Take the peanut butter and put it on the brush and scrub lightly where the stain is.
4. Then just take a wet towel and wipe it off, make sure you dont leave any butter on the car or it will dry and get crusty.

When I tried this it got stains off the car that have been there for many years.

I can't figure out if this is just really funny or you are being serious, either way I get confused. If you are being serious, how did you ever figure out this method. People do some weird stuff to their car.

Some people also swear by using Pledge on cars to give then shine and protection - like quick detailing.

I've also heard of using mayo to remove tar stains. who knows how they come up with this stuff

another way to take off tar stains is by using acrosol (sp?).. I have a can of it at my house, all u do is spray it on, then 2 sec. later wipe it off and the tar is gone, works great.
