Which is my '94? SE? GXE? GLE?

Alright, I'm kinda getting ****ed off at this. I don't know what my car is. It has 4 wheel disk brakes and ABS, which indicates it is a SE, but the engine code under the hood says it's "VG 30 (E)" which indicates the single cam. So, do I just have a freak of nature, or was this common to put the weaker engine in with the SE features. BTW: it's an automatic.

there's no such thing as a GLE in 94. You probably have a GXE if you found a VG engine under the hood. What color are your mirrors, guages, got a spoiler, fog lights??

Guages are black, no spoiler, no fog lights. What's up with my brakes then? why do i have SE brakes on a GXE? Thanks for the lightning quick replies.

I SEE THE LIGHT!

I guess ABS w/ 4wheel disks was an option for the GXE. I'm glad that's settled. I actually won a bet with a buddy of mine that I had 4-wheel disks. anyways, thanks

Did someone do the rear disc conversion or did 94 gxe's get 4 wheel disc brakes?

it was an option

i read on some website that it was an option. I'm not sure of the years, but the option came with ABS and 4-wheel disks as a package. And I'm absolutely sure my dad did not do any conversions, he doesn't even know how to change his own oil.

Re: Re: it was an option

to clear things up go to Craigs site and see the differences but here are a few.

all ABS equipped cars came with 4 wheel disks (gxe or se)

all SEs had 4wheel disks abs or not.

all GXEs had the door key pad.

no SEs had the door key pad.

no GXEs came from the factory with a 5 speed though some have been converted.

Oh and this is for US models...I know some Canadian models are different.

yes the GXE came with this option on the ABS 4-Wheel disc brakes. my max has these options and the keyless entry. of course i modified the gauges by installin' '93 SE gauges on mine. no wing. the fogs were installed by my bodyshop after the accident. they thought my car came with fogs from factory so they threw them in for free.

you'd think they would realize their mistake when they went to hook them up and found that there was no switch.
