New best 1/4 time but not what expected

I went to GLD last night and ran a 15.510@89.60. Since the last time I raced there, I have added a JWT Pop Charger, and also did a weight reduction(spare, mat, other junk). I got a 2.29 60ft time, better that my other times, but I thought with the pop charger, you lose low end, and gain top end. I was hoping for 15.4 but maybe next year. Also, I have horrible wheel hop. How can I prevent this??
Thanks!

Now I know I suck. I went last night and I couldn't break 16 even with the list of mods that I have. My best was 16.040@88.60. Is the a method to this launching time I know I should be faster. Timing was adavnced to it brought me from 16.4 to 16.0.

you don't need no stinkin mounts

if its a 5spd you can get a 2.1 out of it
justtakes practice
i used to average 2.0-2.1 on bald street tires
decent tires you should be able to get better then that

It is all about driver. You need to keep practicing...You need to learn your car, because every car is different.

hehe, a VE five speed is pulling the kind of times I might be able to with a good launch.

Really, it sounds like you just need practice. Was this your first time at the drag strip?

I was launching ok but wheelhop played a big factor in my 60ft. This is my third time racing my car there, but I used to race my old truck there.

Did you do your suspension yet? If you've got a stock suspension, then thats your problem, its mushy as hell.

Yeah, my first time. I only got one good launch out of 4 tries, and I missed second gear that time.

No aftermarket suspension stuff done to my car. Is there any one thing that will prevent wheel hop, stabilizer bar, subframe connectors, etc?

I don't dump the clutch. I rev it to about 3 grand and let the clutch out slowly. It's when I get going that I get wheel hop.
