when i start my car, the temperature needle goes all the way to the middle of that gauge. is that normal, if not then what is wrong with the car?

 

Perhaps there is a problem with the coolant temperature sensor. When you start the engine for the first time in the day, it's supposed to slowly rise to the middle, so what you're experiencing isn't normal.

 

yea, but if your talking about after you have driven your car, like you go in a store and the come back out and your temp needle goes to the middle, that is normal.

 

no it just goes up when i start my car. it just started doing that recently... life a few weeks ago.

 

yeap..i assumed be meant that the needle goes to the middle when he starts the car for the first time of the day. Of course it'll go back to the middle if you stop and start it a few minutes later.

I dunno it could be the coolant temp sensor, I believe if you search you'll be able to find more information as to how to test the sensor to insure it's functioning properly. I belive it's around $30 for a new one. Good luck.
