I live right in the middle of it all. The Home Depot shooting last night was about 5 miles from my old house in Arlington. Its kind of scary but at the same time you have to remember you are probably more likely to get killed in a car accident. Hopefully they get the fool who's behind all this

I live in Northern VA myself, and have family and friends all over the place. Everytime I hear of a shooting I make a call to make sure everyone is OK. If I didn't have a job, I might go on a little counter-sniper mission.

I hear that man. Snipe the sniper. Someone needs to take this guy out. Got to www.CNN.com Puts faces and names to the victims. Innocent people going about their lives. I looked at it this morning and it made me sick.

I'm sure sooner or later this person will make a mistake. And that's when the police will nab this person(s).

Does anyone think it's one person or a team of two or more??

I feel for the families of the victims..

I distinctly remember when all you had to do was drive down the expressways in Cali, and some crazed idjit would pull out his "peacemaker" and clear out a couple of lanes for passing...

That's got to be some scary stuff, though. I remember when I was young, my brother's friend got shot right next to us by a guy standing across the street from us. So, I can kinda relate to the fear one would feel. That could've been anyone!!!

For the love of Pete, be safe all!!!

I saw it coming when the 3rd victim was hit. I knew then that someone was hunting. That's one sick individual. How do you think he would do against a few dozen hunters like himself???

The guy is obviously doing it from a substantial distance, perhaps a long-range rifle?? He's hit people in pretty public places. Remember the gas station?? I noticed from the news shots that there were cameras all over that gas station. Beyond that, if you look closely there is an ATM like right across the street. None of these cameras are seeing this guy, obviously, because he would have been caught by now...

Not exactly, the last shooting at Home Depot was from 30 yards away in a parking garage. Matter of fact, some witnesses say they watched the sniper get of his van, aim, and shoot.

I don't understand how someone seeing that wouldn't step in and try to stop this guy, or at least follow him so he would be caught.

But then again, Clayton... what foo* would want to jump in front of a guy with a gun?? I consider myself pretty brave (even to the point of foolish at times), but NO FARGIN' WAY! Now, maybe following him would've been an option, like you said. But trying to jump in there and be "dudley do-right" ain't worth it sometimes....

But they DID say on CNN this morning that the sniper's getting bolder, so it shouldn't be too much longer before they get sloppy and get caught!

Another Q.... Does anyone think that this person might be former military or maybe former police sniper or something to that effect? We bounced that around my office yesterday.

Taking someone out from 30 yds. while they're practically standing still isn't that difficult. These people are loading bags and pumping gas, not exactly a moving target. I think IMO that if it were X-military, he/she would be making it more of a hunt and would probably have some sort of obvious agenda, instead of just randomly picking people off. I dunno, hard to say really, that's just what's bouncin around my brain...

He could be former military or police, but maybe not, just cause he uses a .223 and is a good shot doesn't mean anything. I consider myself a good shot..one shot has gotten me a few game animals from 100 yards with a .30-30, not even a good long range rifle. Plus, people think .223 is a military round, but many many rifles fire that round. .223 is know by many as a great hunting round for distance shooting..that's part of the reason the military adopted it. Yes, an AR-15 or M-16 fires that round, but so does my dad's bolt action hunting rifle he has had for years. Plenty of psychos out there to do this kind of **it. I pray that this all comes to an end very quickly. This guy or guys MUST be caught. No mercy on there souls..take them out medievil style.

Nubian, I agree about the jumping in front of his gun comment, but if I saw this guy I would hop in my car and keeping a safe distance follow the sick *** meanwhile calling 911 to come get there ***.

Sh** there are many things that could be done to stop this ******* by ordinary citizens.

Nismo, taking someone out from 30 yards is pretty easy, yes. Not all the shootings have been from that range, many from much farther, and as far as I'm concerned this guy IS hunting humans. He's choosing easy targets for sure kills. He doesn't want to miss. A sniper wants to eliminate a target with one shot.

Military? Maybe, but you don't have to be military to be a good shot. Any way you look at it, this guy is a fuc king terrorist, and in my eyes he deserves to die a horrible death. I personaly vote for an old fashioned stoning as starters, and then whens he's on his death bed torture his *** with leaches and snakes and sh*t.

Guys, when the *Lord* said "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth", it wasn't meant to be justice at the hand of another mortal. I am just as angry as the rest of you, but I don't want to torture this person as I would not stoop to the level at which he carrys himself. If you go out and hunt this sniper you would be no better than him, justice served or no. Keep your mind clear of anger when confronting these issues and you will come out ahead. You don't have to resort to terrorism to take out a terrorist. But I'm with you on another level, someone needs to stop this madness...

It would be sweet if one of us saw him and then a whole mess of us could go and surround him somewhere with about 50 maximas untill the police showed up to deal with him.

One of these days, he's going to be seen somewhere holding his rifle by an "ordinary American that believes in his right to bear arms" and the problem will be over. That's assuming there's only one, but I don't think there's anyone else involved. just one sicko that won't live much longer.
