4th gen MAF?

Hi all,

First time posting, have been lurking for a while though. You guys are good.

The MAF sensor on my 94 GXE seem to go bananas. It lost all output voltage after car is run for a while then causes Check Engine light on. I ordered a used one from car-part.com. From the forum looks like many of us had bad MAF problem. Used ones from junkyards are pretty old too. Don't know how long those gonna last.

Has anyone tried to put a 4th gen MAF sensor on 3rd gen? Are they the same diameter and connector type? Those maybe better made.

4th gens are having similar problems, although less of them. (probably because the cars are newer).

But anyway, the connectors are different on them. They're a different part # from nissan anyway. I wouldn't mess with it. just buy another one from a junkyard and clean it up before you install it. use soem electrical contact cleaner and spray on the sensor element, then let it dry. give it another short squirt to make sure it's clean, then let dry and install. not much to it.

Thanks. I cleaned my old one. It seemed to be working for a while. but in a week or so the CE light is back again. Hope the new used one will solve the problem.
